The Introduction Of I-Pods And The Relative Redundancy Of Cd's

By Cauldwell Pipps

The I-Pod has changed the way in which millions of people listen to music. The Cd's that can now almost be called old fashioned are being slowly pushed aside by the mp3 music download.

Though millions of Cd's are still sold weekly, the chances are that they will have their contents copied to the users I-pod and then will lie dormant among the other redundant Cd's that the same thing has happened to.

Although there were other mp3 player before the I-pod revolution, they were nowhere near as successful as the I-pod, one of which belongs to most of the music-listening world, which is pretty much everyone in the physical world.

It could be argued that this is because the I-pod offers a far more aesthetically pleasing user interface than the early mp3 players. Personally, I would say that this would be a reasonable point to make.

The mp3 players that came previously had only a small LCD screen (if they had one at all) and it was difficult to arrange information on such a small display. The I-pod however has a much bigger display screen, which can show track listings in an easily viewable way.

There is also a touch pad on the I-pod, which not only offers greater ease-of-use, but (particularly when it first came out) it was something the users had not seen before, or at least seen very little of, and therefore was something new and interesting.

Another great thing about the modern day I-pod and a reason its so popular is that it is not limited to music. It can support pretty much all media types, like pictures, voice recording, video playback and you can even play games on the newer models.

The I-pod is therefore the perfect accessory for times of boredom. Theres a whole range of things features to keep you entertained with the all in one, gadget of the decade, the I-pod. - 18418
