The Fantasist: Eerie story of sensual repression amid the Irish: nation lass Harris moves to Dublin, where she's in peril of dropping prey to Bottoms, who might be the infamous "phone hail slaughterer.' , Well finished of its type, with Hardy successfully juxtaposing quiet, calm patterns with those of fear; nonetheless, some can find naughty. Cast includes Christopher Cazenove, TImothy Bottoms, Moira Harris, John Kavanagh, and Mick Lally. (98 minutes, 1986)
Padre Padrone: Dismal. An ignorant Sardinian boy, brutalized by his peasant dad, still grows up to master Greek and Latin and graduate college. Even sadder still, is the un-involving and curiously forgettable Gavino Ledda. Cast includes Omero Antonutti, Saverio Marconi, Marcella Michelangeli, and Fabrizio Specialty. (114 minutes, 1977)
Insomnia: Will Dormer is an LA detective who finds himself in Alaska, trying to track down a murderer. He gets help from local cop, Hap, as they try and locate Walter Finch, the prime suspect in the case. Once they find him, it is a game of cat and mouse in the Alaskan summer, as Walter proves to be very elusive.
The Man in the Moon: Ingratiatingly old-styled weeper set in rural Louisiana in 1957, in reference to a l4-year-old gal in love with an older boy, who in turn favors her college-confined sister. Newcomer Witherspoon is vivid as the younger sister more early teenage lightning for controller Mulligan, who guided T Kill a Mockingbird. Pleasantly shot by Freddie Francis. Waterston has some powerful scenes as the gals' dad. Cast includes Sam Waterston, Tess Harper, Gail Strickland, Reese Witherspoon, Jason London, and Ernie Energetic. (99 minutes, 1991)
Wild Wild West: This is a big screen adaptation to the old TV series of the same name. James West and his buddy Artemus Gordon are determined to stop the evil Dr. Arliss Loveless, who is planning to assassinate the president. Will Smith stars as James West.
