Soul Food: The tradition of Sunday dinners with Mama Joe has kept the family together for going on 40 years. When she is hospitalized with diabetes, the Sunday dinners stop. Almost immediately the family falls into turmoil, with lots of infighting and problems. Finally Mama Joe's grandson Ahmad sees what needs to be done, and Sunday dinners are revived.
Ice Age: In this animation comedy we find ourselves viewing the blight of the animals as the ice age is descending upon them. An unlikely quartet of animals, Manny the wooly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber toothed tiger, and Scrat the prehistoric squirrel, must find their way to warmer places before the ice age ends their lives. They battle the element, and devious attacks form other animals to try and survive the ice age.
Point Break: Johnny Utah, a rookie FBI agent, goes undercover, as a surfer, to infiltrate a suspicious group of surfers that might be responsible for a string of bank heists. He is taken in by the group, and learns the life of a surfer. When it's time will Johnny Utah be able to take these criminals down.
Just Cause: Bobby Earl is going to die by execution. He has always claimed his innocence, and now asks Paul Armstrong, a Harvard law professor, to try and prove he is not guilty of murdering a small girl eight years ago. Upon investigating the case, Paul finds lots of evidence that might acquit his new client, but local law enforcement just isn't interested. Before it is all over Paul learns that there is more to Bobby Earl than it first appeared.
Slaves: This is a bizarre cast in revisionist tirade in reference to Kentucky servant Davis sitting up for his rights. It may have signified something in the '60s, however now it's just humorous, with Boyd correctly humiliated. Cast includes Stephen Boyd, Dionne Warwick, Ossie Davis, Marilyn Clark, Gale Sondergaard, Shepperd Strudwick, and David Huddleston. (110 minutes, 1969)
Big Trouble in Little China: Buddy Blowhard trucker Russell finds him self knee large in Chinatown fascinate and gibberish while a buddy's fianc' is abducted right in front of his eyes. High tech Indiana Jones fashion venture has bulky tongue-in-cheek demeanor, however everything else in reference to it is bulky, too containing Russell's John Wayne swagger. Hollow Man: Sebastian Caine is working on a top-secret assignment for the U.S. government. He is trying to unlock the keys to human invisibility. After succeeding on laboratory animals, he can't resist, and takes the serum himself. He becomes irreversibly invisible, and feels threatened by those trying to cure him.
