Music Box: Chicago trial lawyer Lange is thrown for a loop while her Hungarian immigrant dad is implicated of heinous war crimes and possible deportation. What might have been a crackling thriller becomes a high-gloss melodrama as an alternative, trudging and far-fetched, albeit Lange is excellent in this rare ethnic role and Mueller-Stahl is hefty as the enigmatic elder. Number One With a Bullet: Carradine and Williams do well in this somewhat normal action movie, set by "abnormal" investigators out to dethrone a drug kingpin. Cast includes Robert Carradine, Billy Dee Williams, Valerie Bertinelli, Peter Graves, Doris Roberts, and Bobby DiCicco. (101 minutes, 1987)

From Justin to Kelly: Use sunscreen rather than sitting through this insipid musical for Television's American Hero megastars, which finds them trying to make a love connection throughout Miami spring crack. No one was anticipating Shakespeare, however there's less weight here than in an Archie comic magazine.
