Masters of the Guitar
with a whole lot of guitarists who made their mark with their abilities, placing them in an all time greatest list can be a tricky process. A lot have been inspirational to the new breed of guitar players while a whole lot imposed their influence in music and in other different fields. They have weathered the test of time, which makes it deserving to call them legends of the guitar.
A whole lot of accomplished guitar players and starting guitar students look up to these legends. Someday, this new wave of guitarists will make a shot for fame and glory, but for no, they still have to do what it takes to be mentioned in the same breath with the legends in this list. Without further ado, here are your heroes of the guitar.
There can only be one Jimi Hendrix. Rose to fame after his gigs at the Monterey Pop Festival and then later at Woodstock in'69, Hendrix disregarded guitar conventions and blazed the way for other guitarists. More than just making music with his famed Statocaster, Hendrix was the first guitar player who used guitar feedback and overdriven amplifiers as a means to create good music.
Next on the list is Jimmy Page. Best known for his association with the equally-legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, Page was one of the core members of the Yardbirds band. He is a high performer, making music with his Gibson Les Paul Classic while doing wild stage antics. His passion for the show made him the the ninth greatest guitarist in the Rolling Stones top 100 list.
Carlos Santana fuses guitar playing with his Latino flavor. With his Gibson SG electric guitar, he creates music infused with something that can be described as mystical and magical, whether the genre is rock, blues, jazz fusion and salsa. Santana's music is inspiring no doubt, which really incites other Latin guitarist to step up and make some music.
Another former Yardbird member, Eric Clapton knows how to whip up great music with his Eric Clapton Artist Signature Stratocaster. One of the most successful guitarist of all time, the guy with the nickname Slowhand has three inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and several Grammy awards under his belt. This guy is simply amazing when starts strumming that guitar.
These are your legends. They play the guitar but they are not the same. The only thing that binds these men together is the fact their talents allows them to rock your word with their music. - 18418
