Mickey Blue Eyes: Alarmingly unfunny story based on the renowned nearsighted animation personality refreshed in the energized credits, with Greg Burson filling in for Jim Backus as the voice of Magoo. Nielsen does his best unconditionally, although the pointlessly difficult plot about the theft of a dear cherry just goes on and on. There are a tremendous amount of mean spirited characters for a kid's film. Cast includes Hugh Permit, James Caan, Jeanne Trippet, Leslie Nielsen, Jennifer Gamer, Malcolm McDowell, and Miguel Ferrer. Suicide Kings: A group of desperate kids kidnap a slick underworld mob boss and keep him prisoner to boost leverage in the kidnapping of Thomas' sibling. Although throughout one long day, the mobster Walken, in fine form measures up his captors and plays on their weaknesses. Well planned piece, with some excellent tale twists and first-rate acting jobs. Cast includes Christopher Walken, Denis Leary, Henry Thomas, Sean Patrick Flanery, Laura San Giacomo, and Brad Garrett. Bean: Mr. Bean is a funny character played by genius comedian Rowan Atkinson. Being the caretaker of the Royal National Gallery, Bean is asked to take the famed Whistlers Mother painting to LA. This trip proves to be an incredible adventure for Mr. Bean.
Alakazam the Great: Japanese-made animation is excellent for entertaining the kids. The tale is focused around the supernatural baboon's ambitious ventures, from a bullfight in the pit of a volcano to a mythical battle with Hercules. Cast includes Frankie Avalon, Arnold Stang, and Sterling Holloway. (84 minutes,'61)
The Last Run: Average story of aging gangland driver who has to make one more run for his self image. Incredible photography shot by Sven Nykvist. Cast includes George C. Scott, Tony Musante, Trish Van Devere, and Colleen Dewhurst. (99 minutes,'71)
