Cop Land - Freddy Hanlin is the Sheriff of Garrison New Jersey, a tiny town not too far from New York City. Freddy always wished to be a New York City cop, but he is somewhat hard of hearing, so he never could. When internal investigator Mo Tilden shows up in town to look into probable police corruption, Freddie takes up the cause and starts to help out. Freddie is about to learn that the men he has always idolized might be doing some very terrible things.
Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout film. He plays a Chicago Cop who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to wreak chaos on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. 1988 Action.
Strange Interlude - A Eugene O'Neill play that shows the complex web of the distinction between our thoughts and our words. Norma Shearer plays a woman who lost the love of her life when he was shot down in WWI. The movie speaks of romances and marriages between Nina and three men, only one of whom she loves. It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a fascinating movie, with Shearer at her shining best. The players includes Norma Shearer, Clark Gable, Might Robson, Maureen O'Sullivan, Robert Youthful, Ralph Morgan, Henry B. Walthall, and Alexander Kirkland. 110 minutes, 1932.
Thunderheart - There have been a number of killings on the Sioux Indian Reservation. The FBI goes in to sort out the situation. One agent, Ray Levoi, has Sioux blood. As he investigates the case he soon finds out there is much more going on than some accidental killings.
Uncle Buck - Cindy Russell must pay a visit to her sick dad. Her single option for someone to look after her youngsters is wonderful old Uncle Buck. Foolish Buck has to in some way pull himself together and take care of the kids for a few days.
House Springs - Having just been abandoned by his fiance Driver, British actor Firth heads to the U.S. and falls for Graham. Then, wouldn't you know it, Minnie shows up. There are great acting jobs from everybody, although not enough laughs for a romantic comedy. The film is based on the book New Cardiff by Charles Webb. Cast includes Colin Firth, Heather Graham, Minnie Driver, Mary Steenburgen, Oliver Platt, and. 92 minutes, 2003.
Bopha - Restless, charming tirade with Glover and Woodard who portrayed Nelson and Winnie Mandela in the TV motion picture MANDELA featuring as a wedded couple living in a tranquil South African township. He's a patrol officer who contains the status quo; their world is certain to fall down while their youngster Ezia takes part in a rebellion differing to the control and course of the regional off-white-run school. Cast includes Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Malcolm McDowell, Alfie Woodard, Marius Weyers, Maynard Eziashi, Malick Bowens, and Grace Mahlaba. PG-13, 120 minutes, 1993.
Clue - Silly and insipid mystery based on the fashionable board game of the same name with all the identifiable characters Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Red, et al. gathered for a murderous day in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries enormously hard but there is nothing they can do to save this weak film.
