Participate In Vocal Competitions To Become A Singing Superstar

By Michael Badagliacco

They say singers are on top of the star ladder; singing prowess promises a dreamer the hopes of making it big someday. Some of the world's most successful, not to mention the richest are those with ultimate star quality and those with ability to really belt it out and awe crowd with their singing talent. The ability to weave magic by difficult voice acrobatics never fails to serve as ticket to fame.

Some say joining such contests will only give the contestants fifteen minutes to fame. That fame here is just short lived, that one will only be known in the span of time the contest ran, that these contests are just useless, it will yield to nothing, especially to those who repeatedly do not make it as winners or even as placers. But the truth about these contests, and other contests for that matter, is that they ultimately make the contestants tougher.

These competitions mean a lot of things to dreamers who got all the passion and drive to someday sing for a crowd of millions and be able to influence others through their music. As it is, singing contests actually are steps in making dreams coming true. What better way to enhance one's talents but to work in the face of other singers? Those who pose threats in reaching ones' dreams may seem to be the other aggressive contestants but in the end, it is know that in whatever competition there is, one's ultimate opponent is his or her own self. Singing contests also provide aspiring singers the best lessons they need as they pursue their separate careers.

That alone would give them the sense of how the real industry works. Aside from the exposure one gets from joining, his or her abilities are honed and sharpened. The very challenge of proving one's talent better than others is the ultimate fight one singer has to go through to prove what he or she is capable of, not only to the world but more importantly, to him or herself. Through joining contests, one is given idea that in this world, he or she is not the only one with such talent, that he or she constantly needs to step up their games notches higher and to continuously improve to keep up with other singers. More importantly, singers are taught that in order to stay in the industry, you really have to love what you are doing. All the rest will just fall into place.

To top it off, singing contests are just like any other competitions, where one ultimate champion will emerge in the end. That in this life, there are winners, those who will always be, well, better than most, and that it is really how the world works. But then again, putting aside cynicism, we will all realize that joining singing contests or other contests for that matter, only tests the boundaries of dreamers, that it ultimately molds aspiring singers fit for the tougher road ahead. Who says a fifteen minute stint to fame is all you will get in singing contests? Dreamers will say joining contests gave them their time to shine and to show the world what they do best and what they love the most. - 18418
