Home Music Production Tips - Set The Right Recording Level

By Sean Tan

Recording levels are of the extreme importance when youre producing your music. This pertains to the level for the racks or the mixes. There has always been a ordinary answer for this being to set the level at max just below the digital zero. Referring to the top of the meter. Unluckily, a few of the experts will most likely tell you this's incorrect.

One of the things you may want to bear in mind with this industry is not to believe everything you hear. (No pun intended). There are those in the industry that'll tell you any thing just to get you to buy their wares. Anybody that has been in the comp music realm would tell you that digital audio has just gotten to the point where sound quality is acceptable.

Remember one fundamental element about your quest of composing music and that's the sole purpose of recording sound. Which is naturally so we could listen and enjoy it. You need to learn and be able to determine what parts of the music must be louder than others. For example, a pop ballad should be lower on track than a thrash metal. A guitar solo should be above the average background playing.

Your 1st inclination would be to use just your digital meters and record these one by one. On the surface, it sounds reasonable, but as a matter of fact, you can end up with the very opposite results. Reason being the digital recorders utilise peak meters, where as music listeners use their hearing implying they utilize reasonable characteristics when judging the levels. If not done in the right way then it implies the listener will be forced to turn the volume down.

You can prevent your frustrations if you just record every thing at the correct levels right from the beginning. It will be right to share 1 track between 2 instruments at least. This should simply be done when the 2 specific instruments are not playing concurrently. So you would record these instruments at the exact level that they will be at when physically playing the song. Utilise your estimation qualities to get the results that are right. You wish to hear what the end listeners should heae. They wont be using meters they will be using their natural ability of hearing.

Stay consistent with your whole album, say the listener has to keep standing up to re adjust the volume you could bet they won't be too impressed.

If you try and do your sound recordings according to every of the data that several people give you then you would soon become discouraged. What may work in one song would for sure not work in another. Then there would be all the controversy to sort through. Learn the fundamentals, follow your judgment and trust your ears. Composing music is suppose to be an enjoyable event even if its your livelihood, if you did not have passion for music it is unlikely you would even be involved in computer music. - 18418

How to make playing piano chords easy

By Lynn Lopez

Notes, scales, flats, natural, chords--they're all part of music, and something every piano player should know. For the musically unaccustomed, however, they can sound a bit like threatening, difficult terms to understand. If you're a beginner when it comes to playing the piano, it is essential for you to understand these because, like it or not, you will encounter them as you go about your lessons. One of the things you will learn about is how to play piano chords.

First of all, what are piano chords anyway? Simply put, piano chords are a combination of notes in a single key played simultaneously. The most basic chords consist of three notes. For example, take a look at the piano keyboard and look for two black keys placed together; the white key to the immediate left is C. Press C, then the second key after C, and the second key after that. That is what is basically known as the C major chord. There are twelve major chords all in all: C, G, F, D, E, A, Db, Eb, Ab, Gb, B, and Bb.

You can look up the positions of these chords and practice each of them on your own. When you practice playing them, just remember that it's not necessary to be able to play them quickly. The major chords are not the only ones you can play, but they're the right ones you should be learning first before moving on to the other types of chords.

For you to learn how to play piano chords properly, it always helps if you are already in the middle of a piano course and are therefore already familiar with the keyboard. That way, you already have an understanding of what it's like to produce music on the piano.

If you have a private instructor, you can ask him or her how to play piano chords to learn more about what they are and how they would sound. If you are learning on your own, taking an online course or studying with the help of e-books can really help improve the way you play piano chords. It would also be a good idea for you to find videos on YouTube or other video lessons to show you exactly how certain chords and chord progressions are performed.

Once you've gotten the hang of playing piano chords, you're well on your way to becoming a better pianist. - 18418

iPhone market share in the first quarter was only 1.5%

By Haven Frbiz

U.S. technology blog Silicon Alley Insider Denver洛梅尔Author (Dan Frommer) today, the author pointed out that although Apple's iPhone provides the company with a strong growth momentum, the leading mobile technology and the profits are very substantial, but its market share is still very limited . Following is the full text: mobile research firm ABI Research recently estimated that global mobile phone sales for the first quarter of 258 million, sales in March to 3,800,000. If there is no deviation in the forecast means that Apple's iPhone accounted for only 1.5 percent of market share.

This also means that Apple is still huge room for growth, but also shows that the majority of mobile phone users to choose other brands of mobile phones, not all users have the opportunity to purchase the iPhone. We believe that the mobile phone market with more and more similar to the desktop market. With the importance of upgrading the software, users of mobile loyalty platform also improve. BlackBerry users are more willing to use the BlackBerry, and iPhone users more like iPhone ... ...

There are many users think that Apple should improve the current situation in order to maintain the growth of iPhone, the user's recommendations include:

- IPhone software platform to keep ahead of the competition. This is Apple has already done that last month the company announced that it would launch this summer in the iPhone 3.0 software.

- Improve the iPhone. This may become a reality this summer. Apple is likely to be held in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference, or to display a variety of new iPhone. Although unlikely with the current iPhone has too many different, but will be faster and better.

- To maintain low prices iPhone: iPhone sales of 199 U.S. dollars is more than double the 399 U.S. dollars. If the price is 99 U.S. dollars will be reduced to what? We believe that this year may see a ultra-low price of iPhone.

- The expansion of distribution channels of iPhone: Apple said this year will enter the China market, will also be in the United States with more operators, but a short period of time is also very difficult to become a reality.

- Continue to expand its iPhone operating system platforms. iPod Touch is a great product, why not introduce a range between the iPhone and the iMac flat-panel equipment? - 18418
