Jack Frost - A careless dad dies in an auto mishap and comes to life one year later as a snowman in his child's front yard! Nice, affable acting and an lack of violence make this an alright family film. However, it on no account conquers its quintessential problem, an awfully bizarre premise. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Joseph Cross, Henry Rollins, and Dweezil Zappa. (95 minutes,'98)

Scandalous - Featherbrained deception in regards to investigative Television journalist who runs afoul of a team of con artists as he tries to disentangle himself from a homicide charge. Cast includes Robert Hays, John Giegud, Pamela Stephenson, and Jim Dale. (94 minutes,'84)

(113 minutes,'68)

Cast includes Linda Fiorentino, Peter Berg, J. T. Walsh, Bill Nunn, Bill Pullman, Michael Raysses, and Zach Phifer. (110 minutes,'94)

2009: Remastered Beatles in Stereo Box Set

By David Quincy Jackson

The Beatles in Stereo Remastered Box Set was made available on 9/9/9 it immediately became the standard for The Beatles classic albums.

These remastered versions sound far better than the old discs from the late 80s. When when I compare these new remasters to the old discs it's like the older discs are under a pile of wet towels while the new CDs sound crystal clear so that all of the instrumentation and vocals push through the mixes like never before.

The Beatles Stereo Remastered CD Box Set isn't the only Beatles box set released in September of '09 but it is the most popular because it can be enjoyed by the widest range of Beatles fans. The Remastered Beatles Mono Box Set is excellent too but it appeals mostly to Beatles purists who need to listen to the original mono mixes (because the mono mixes are what the band themselves worked on) than to the average music fan. While I will agree with the "purists" that there are some songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (especially quite a few of the pre 1967 recordings) all things considered I believe the stereo CD box set does sound best.

The wonderful thing about The Beatles in Stereo Remastered CD Set is that it allows you to get The Beatles entire 60s discography with just one order and considering the high quality of almost all of their LPs, it makes the most sense to get al of the albums at one time instead of picking up some and then getting more later.

Along with the great ground breaking music included in this box set there are also some really cool visual elements, the- mini documentary (for each studio album) DVD is the most obvious. Along with the DVD there are extended liner notes for every album (there is some good information in these notes, particularly for new Beatles fans) and some interesting previously unpublished pictures.

I'm such a big Beatles lover that I've bought (or I plan on buying) The Beatles Stereo Box, The Beatles in Mono Box Set, The Beatles USB Memory Stick, and The Beatles Rock Band Video Game. But if I had to pick only one of these things, it would have to be the stereo box set because it is the best hear their legendary music and after all, it's the music that is the most important. - 18418

Learning Music Production From Home

By Abdal Girmani

Learning music production from home is one of the most delightful things to do as a producer, you get to make your mistakes without any body knowing, you get to experiment without anybody seeing your tricks and techniques.

Music production is really incredible. Suddenly during the past 5 years there was a big raise in the way music production is seen in the educational eyes and college and school courses have been turning up like hot cakes all over the world.

But is a university or university course in music production what you really need? I think not, all you can learn in music production you can learn from a single internet site that I found while scanning the web a few months back. After studying a 3 year Degree in 'Commercial Music' I took on this course online and spotted that everything I had been sitting studying for three years was available in a program that takes 1 or 2 months to do in your own time from home.

The topics range from music production, music systems, pop music culture, hiphop, music entrepreneurship and so very much more. The creative side is so down to you to be truthful, only you can push you and to be honest.. Three years of studying a degree like myself is not going to do any different than a short course can do for you in one or two months. You need to take action for yourself.

You need to become a businessman in this day in age, being your own boss man. Information is the key to any businessman, so take care you get your knowledge and know how up! . - 18418

The Hi-Lo Country: Tale of 2 men in post-WW2 New Mexico who fall in love with the identical lady and she's already married to someone else. A tribute to the dude way of life and the delights of real kinship, this film has so much going for it (including Harrelson's wonderful performance as a hell-raiser and Oliver Stapleton's cinematography) that it's a pity it doesn't hit the bull's-eye and Arquette is so boring. Cast includes Woody Harrelson, Billy Crudup, Patricia Arquette, Sam Elliott, Cole Hauser, Penelope Cruz, Darren Caves, Jacob Vargas, James Gammon, Lane Smith, and Katy Jurado. (114 minutes,'98)

Alfred the Great: This tale of youthful leader of 9th-century England can?t choose if it's a serious historical journal or wide swashbuckler and triumphs in neither. Cast includes David Hemmings, Michael York, Prunella Ransome, Colin Blakely, Julian Glover, and Ian McKellen. (122 minutes,'69)

La Petit Lili: A family's country house is charged with sentiment while the hotheaded child, a yearning film maker actor, finds that his lady friend is captivated with his mom's boyfriend, a triumphant head of mainstream films. Brilliant film empowered by Chekhov's The Seagull, investigating the line between art and life, and how the 2 influence each other. Cast includes Nicole Garcia, Bernard Giraudeau, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Ludivine Sagnier, Robinson Steveniu, Julie Depardieu, Yves Jacques, and Michel Piccoli. (104 minutes, 2003)

Cast includes George T. Odom, Ann D. Sanders, Lawrence Gilliard, Jr., Barbara Sanon, Reana E. Drummond, and Mark Malone. (91 minutes,'91)

Fantastic Journey: Astronomically amusing science fiction tale of a medical team decreased to microscopic dimension, and then inserted inside human being body. The film?s incredible wide screen brilliance can be lost on a Television monitor however the tale and action can keep you cemented to your seat anyway. Cast includes Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch, Edmond O'Brien, Donald Pleasence, Arthur O'Connell, William Redfield, Arthur Kennedy, and James Brolin. (100 minutes,'66)

Rambo: Much better than part II, this one continues to be firmly footed in the genre of mindless action films, as our brawny idol goes behind Russian battle lines in Afghanistan to save his buddy from a prison fortress. You will see lots of eruptions to keep the action going and some funny stuff thrown in too. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc de Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focas, and Sasson Gabai. (101 minutes,'88)

The Lost Boys: A family moves to a California town where the local adolescent gang turns out to be vampires! A smooth film aimed at a younger audience. Both the humor and the structuring are pretty apparent. Only genuine fireworks materialize at the end in the very last showdown. Cast includes Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Bamard Hughes, Edward Herrmann, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, and Jamison Newlander. (97 minutes,'87)

Thieves like Us: 3 black sheep flee from jail in'30s south and go on a binge. The youngest (Carradine) falls in love with an easy, ignorant gal (Duvall). Cast includes Keith Carradine, Shelley Duvall, John Schuck, Bert Remsen, Louise Fletcher, Ann Latham, and Tom Skerritt. (123 minutes,'87)

Down in the Delta: With her life a mess and essentially no desire to work, lone mother Woodard boards the bus with her 2 kids to spend the summer in the Mississippi Delta, living with family members and working in their restaurant. Episodic drama recoups from awkward start to better points for utter likability. Woodard beams and Freeman gives one of the best acting jobs of his career.
