In last place, the Knick seem to be a hopeless team. One night at a game Eddie is picked from the crowd to shoot a free throw. If she makes it she can coach the team for one game. She makes the shot, and is living a dream come true. What happens next is even more incredible. The owner offers her the job for the rest of the season.

Cop Land: Freddy Hanlin is the Sheriff of Garrison New Jersey, a small town not too far from New York City. Freddy always want to be a New York City cop, but he is slightly deaf, so he never could. When internal investigator Mo Tilden shows up in town to look into potential police corruption, Freddie takes up the cause and starts to help out. Freddie is about to learn that the men he has always idolized might be doing some very bad things.

Bulletproof: Covert cop Wayans teams up with Sandler. The crook he's trying to bust is a drug kingpin who is proving to be very difficult to bring down. Cast includes Adam Sandler, Damon Wayans, James Caan, Kristen Wilson, James Farentino, Bill Nunn, and Jeep Swenson. (85 minutes, 1996)

Raising-Cain: Lithgow is the entire show here. But I know it's a lot more than the seven books I'm listing here. My point is that these seven great Beatles books are not randomly selected, they are the Beatles books that really stand out among the many that I have read.

The Beatles as Musicians: The Quarry Men through Rubber Soul - I must warn you that the "Beatles as Musicians" books are very heavy into music theory and if you're completely clueless in that area you may find these books to be over your head. These books are really meant for those who want to study The Beatles music at a very deep level.

The Beatles as Musicians: Revolver through the Anthology - I love both of the "Beatles as Musicians" books but I must say that this one is my favorite. My five favorite Beatles albums were all released during this period (The White Album, Sgt. Pepper, Revolver, Abbey Road, & Magical Mystery Tour.)

Tell Me Why - This book includes an essay on every song The Beatles released during their career in the 1960s. There's some factual information in here along with some opinions. I don't always agree with the opinions, but they are an interesting jumping off point for a debate (even if the debate is entirely in my head!)
