By Tamera Duran

The Delicate Delinquent: Jerry's first solo attempt after separating with Dean Martin has him as a janitor mistaken for a juvenile delinquent who becomes a cop with McGavin's help. Cast Jerry Lewis, Martha Hyer, Darren McGavin, Horace McMahon, and Milton Frome. (100 minutes,'57)

Buck Privates: An out dated but engaging Army opus with Bud and Lou inadvertently registering for the army. Brassy melodies (containing the Andrews Sisters "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy") and subplots get in the way; however A&C's regimens are some of their best in their first feature film. Cast includes Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lee Bowman, Alan Curtis, The Andrews Siblings, Jane Frazee, Nat Pendleton, and Shemp Howard. (84 minutes,'41)

The Indian Runner: A temperamental piece in reference to a youthful gentleman's efforts to comprehend, and get closer to, his brother who's just returned from Vietnam. The film is lazy at times, however filled with feeling and reality, and is relatively moving. Hefty acting jobs all around, with unconventional although powerful projecting of Bronson as the boys' depressed dad. Cast includes David Morse, Viggo Mortensen, Valeria Golino, Patricia Arquette, Charles Bronson, Sandy Dennis, Dennis Hopper, Benicio Del Toro, and Kenny Stabler. (125 minutes,'91)

Cry Freedom: An empathetic film in dealing with the life of South African activist Steve Biko (well played by Washington) and his kinship with crusading newspaper editor Donald Woods (Kline). Regrettably the second half of film, minus the Biko personality, loses itself as it invests too much time on Kline as he and his family flees from South Africa. Cast includes Kevin Kline, Penelope Wilton, Denzel Washington, Kevin McNally, John Defrost, Timothy West, Juanita Waterman, John Hargreaves, Alec McCowen, Zakes Mokae, and Ian Richardson. (157 minutes,'87)

The Fourth Protocol: An excellent thriller adjusted by Frederick Forsyth from his most popular novel. Caine plays a British agent who's designated to foil a Russian plot that could obliterate relationships between the U.S. and England by setting off an atomic bomb near an American air base in the U.K. Brosnan does well as a Russian representative. Cast includes Michael Caine, Pierce Bronson, Joanna Cassidy, Ned Beatty, Betsy Brantley, Peter Cartwright, David Conville, Matt Frewer, Ray McAnally, and Ian Richardson. (119 minutes,'87)

The Pawnbroker: This is a vital, preoccupying film. Steiger is phenomenal as Saul Nazerman, a Jewish pawnbroker in Harlem who lives in a protected environment with haunting memories of Nazi jail camps. Cast includes Rod Steiger, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Brock Peters, Jaime Sanchez, Thelma Oliver, Juano Hernandez, and Raymond St. Jacques. (116 minutes,'65)

Delta Fox: An unremarkable action-based opus in regards to a smuggler on the run from Miami to L.A. Cast includes Richard Lynch, Priscilla Barnes, Stuart Whitman, John Ireland, and Richard Jaeckel. (92 minutes,'77)

Take A Look At These Popular Motion Picture Evaluations And Enjoy It Tonight

By Ramiro Church

You can still locate the "free" sites that allow you to download illegally copied copies of films, games and music by using P2P file sharing services. Even if the likelihood of being caught is slight, is it prudent to take the gamble when there are many official download services presented nowadays that you can decide from?

The Seniors - 4 collegians open a bogus sex hospital, which mushrooms into a multi million dollar business. The movie is alternately stupid and sarcastic, with some harmless nudity thrown in. Cast includes Jeffrey Byron, Gary Imhof, Dennis Quaid, Lou Richards, PrisciIla Barnes, Alan Reed, Edward Andrews, Robert Emhardl, and Alan Hewitt. (87 minutes,'78)

Live Flesh - Crazed child of a prostitute is incarcerated for accidentally shooting and paralyzing a cop. Original narrative of teenager's error that takes him to prison. Spanish language. Cinematically stimulating, albeit, with a bravura finale. Cast includes Pedro Almodovar, Liberto Rabal, Francesca Neri, Javier Bardem, Angela Molina, Jose Sancho, and Penelope Cruz. (100 minutes,'97)

The Last Seduction - Pathologically malevolent and strikingly sensual female ditches her spouse, steals the money he's made in a drug deal, and escapes N.Y.C. to a tiny upstate town where she attracts and bewilders a local gentleman who becomes her latest patsy. Fiorentino's spicy femme fatale makes Stanwyck in Triple Indemnity look like Snow White! The movie is a scorching, seductive thriller from contemporary film noir master Dahl and author Steve Barancik. Cast includes Linda Fiorentino, Peter Berg, J. T. Walsh, Bill Nunn, Bill Pullman, Michael Raysses, and Zach Phifer. (110 minutes,'94)

Slaughter's Big Ripoff - A murderer is still playing games with the Mafia in this dull action film. McMahon gives more effort to his role as the mafia boss than it is worth. Cast includes Jim Brown, Ed McMahon, Brock Peters, Don Stroud, Gloria Hendry, Dick Anthony Williams, and Art Metrano. (93 minutes,'73)

The Last Time I Saw Archie - Webb's solitary try at comedy is less preposterous than some of his more solemn films; a shame, since William Bowers' script-based on his own Army experiences had true potential, and Mitchum nicely underplays as the con guy. By the way, the genuine Archie Chamber sued for invasion of privacy. Cast includes Robert Mitchum, Jack Webb, Martha Hyer, France Nuyen, Louis Nye, Richard Arlen, Don Tangles, Joe Flynn, and Robert Strauss. (98 minutes,'61)

A Sampling Of Precise Film Reviews To Check Out

By Leonor William

With a shop near every neighborhood, video stores have been the most convenient way to get movies for years. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Eyewitness: Smooth however unsatisfying thriller in regards to a creative janitor who uses his second-hand experience of an unsolved murder to get close to a female Television news journalist with whom he's been infatuated. Steve Tesich's script is needlessly cluttered with little characters and tale twists. Cast includes William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Christopher Plummer, James Woods, Irene Worth, Steven Hill, and Morgan Freeman. (102 minutes,'70)

The Indian in the Cupboard: A boy (Scardino) acquires an old chest as a birthday present, and finds that while he sets a toy Indian inside and turns the key, the Indian comes to life. Then he sees that the Indian is not a toy, however a genuine individual. Problems follow, particularly while his best buddy summons to life a toy cowboy. Cast includes Hal Scardino, Lindsay Crouse, Richard Jenkins, Rishi Bhat, and Nestor Serrano. (96 minutes,'95)

Red Scorpion: Low Budget action movie with Lundgren as a Soviet officer sent to Africa to slay an insurgent leader. Cast includes Dolph Lundgren, Emmet Walsh, Al White, T.P. McKenna, Carmen Argenziano, and Brian James. (102 minutes,'89)

The Night of the Following Day: Excellent cast makes this sordid story of a young gal's abduction somehow more fascinating than it should be; pretty coarse in spots. Cast includes Marlon Brando, Richard Boone, Rita Moreno, Pamela Franklin, Jess Hahn, and Gerard Buhr. (93 minutes,'69)

Marley and Me: Johnny and Jenny Grogen have moved to Florida to start their new life together. Jenny is ready for children, but John isn't so sure. Instead, he gets her a puppy, Marley. Marley turns out to quite a bit to handle.

The Nutty Professor: Jerry's craziest and most self-centered comedy casts him as chipmunk-faced college professor who does Jekyll-and-Hyde like changes, and changes into swaggering Buddy Love whom some have defined as a Dean Martin character. The movie is more fascinating than funny. Lewis buffs consideration of this as his masterpiece work. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Stella Stevens, Del Moore, Kathleen Freeman, Med Flory, Howard Morris, Elvia Allman, and Henry Gibson.(107 minutes,'63)

Frontier Marshal: Vibrant retelling of occurrences leading to legendary gunfight at the OK Corral. Scott is perfect as Tombstone's new marshal, Wyatt Earp. Romero is more moody than cold-blooded as Dr. Halliday, and Kelly is the gal from his past who reminds the Dr. of his earlier, saner days as an obstetrician. Cast includes Randolph Scott, Nancy Kelly, Cesar Romero, Binnie Barnes, John Carradine, and Eddie Foy. (71 minutes,'39)

Dracula's Daughter: A Spanish language adaptation of the terror classic was filmed simultaneously with the Hollywood rendition on the identical sets although much of the orchestrating and camerawork are actually better in this Spaniosh version! Other chief variance: the ladies are outfitted more provocatively. All that's missing is a performer with the appeal of Lugosi in the lead role. Cast includes Carlos Villar Villarias, Lupita Tovar, Pablo Alvarez Rubio, Barry Norton, Eduardo Arozamena, Carmen Guerrero, and Manuel Arbo. (103 minutes,'31)

Remastered Beatles Box Sets & USB

By Harold H. Quesenberry

It's difficult to imagine in many ways, but this year has definitely been enormous for the legendary rock band The Beatles OK, and MJ had a big year too 2009 was the year Beatles fans have been waiting for because it was the year that the remastered versions of their albums finally came out on CD and digitally.

The Beatles in Stereo Box Set

The most popular Beatles release of the year has been The Beatles in Stereo Box Set. It's been a huge seller and for good reason. It includes the band's entire '62-'70 catalog in high quality digitally remastered stereo. It sounds absolutely spectacular (these discs are definitely far better than the 1987 mastered Beatles discs you likely own at the moment.)

The biggest improvements in comparison to the old CDs are heard in the way McCartney's bass guitar blasts through the mix more so than ever before and Ringo's drums sound far better than they used to as well. It's also great to be able to hear each individual vocal part more clearly which we can do with these new remasters.

The Remastered Beatles in Mono CD Box Set

The release that has created the most excitement of really big Beatles fans is The Beatles in Mono Box Set because it represents the very first time that the original mono mixes of their music have been available on CD.

Some "purist" Beatles fans feel strongly that these mono mixes are really the way their music was supposed to be listened to and these "mono purists" have a good reason for believing that. Mono was what most Beatles fans listened to in the '60s and it was the mono mixes that the band and it's producers spent the most time perfecting. It really wasn't until around'68 that The Beatles started to take their stereo mixes seriously.

Beatles Remastered Stereo USB Memory Stick

This Beatles USB is basically a digital version of the stereo box set. Along with the more well known mp3 files, it also includes super high quality 24bit FLAC files. Along with the obvious audio component, this Apple USB stick also includes all of the visual elements from the stereo box set such as the 13 album documentaries, the extensive liner notes for each album, and the unpublished photographs.

The USB stick is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. The mp3s that it contains should work with no hiccups with any mp3 player (whether it be an iPod, a Zune, or a generic brand.) - 18418
