The Age of Innocence: Humble although powerful rendition of Edith Wharton's novel in reference to an obstructed romance between an involved lawyer and a divorcee, in 1870s Manhattan. Michael: A set of skeptical journalists and a fake "angel" find that a dotty old female's claim that the archangel Michael is living with her is real. Michael, nonetheless, turns out not to be your normal angel. Genial, wry film by no means goes where you anticipate and takes its time getting there, however the trip is alluring, and Travolta, as the seedy, randy Michael, is impeccably cast. Learn to Play Guitar: How to Get Good Fast

By JD Lottle

It's almost too easy to believe that anybody can sell a million records just by looking 'cool'. Ever since a certain guitar gaming console landed, everybody's feelin' like a rockstar. The funny thing is, when you learn to play guitar on a real instrument, it's actually more fun!

For those into guitar, everybody dreams of playing good enough to be on a band - or maybe even becoming like a rockstar someday. If you want to start living out your music fantasies in your garage this weekend, here are effective ways to learn to play guitar and get good fast:

1. Find a Decent Instrument

Just getting the best you can buy is a good motivator for practice. If you can't afford one, rent or borrow instruments based on recommendations from music shops and guitar pros in your neighborhood. It's easier to learn to play guitar if you have the right tools.

2. Learn Guitar 101

The basics include: finger positions, scales, chords and tablature as well as the basic care of your hand and your instrument. You can't rock out the good stuff unless you master guitar 101 first.

3. Effective Practice Tricks

Videotaping your practice sessions is a great way to analyze errors and make real progress. If you can, practice with someone who plays better than you. Next, get a list of your own rock heroes and organize your own learning catalogue: CDs, books, and guides about how they learned the craft.

In the same way, video guitar lessons also offer a good alternative to help make you learn better. They can quickly teach you performance techniques and what mistakes to avoid.

4. Advancing Lessons

Practice is a must if you want to challenge yourself to get better. Look for simple and interesting books about music theory, timing and technique to get a feel of what the pros are doing. This will help you expand your repertoire.

Once you start to learn to play guitar, its hard to stop. It may open doors to a music career, or it may simply be a fun way to express yourself and entertain people. Guitar lessons not only give you something to enjoy; they help build confidence and spark creativity too. Why not try it and surprise yourself- see how far you can go. - 18418

Rob Thomas Cradlesong Review Rob Thomas Cradlesong Review

By Johny Cage

Rob Thomas is one of the most prolific and talented songwriters in modern music. The famous singer started his solo career in 2005 with the album "Something To Be." The album debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and was praised by critics. Prior to this he was best known for his music with the band Matchbox 20. Thomas briefly reunited with his band in 2007 before working on his second solo album.

Rob released his follow up solo album "Cradlesong," in June of '09. Fans of Matchbox 20 and "Something To Be," should be well pleased with this project. The album blends acoustic guitar, synthesizers, and Rob's voice into a mix of modern and 80's style pop music.

"Cradlesong," has a very polished and well produced tone. The songwriting is top notch and beautifully performed. Thomas is known for an upbeat tone and positive feeling in his music. This album is no different for the most part. It does, however, contain a few songs with some less upbeat topics covered in the lyrics.

The first single to be released from "Cradlesong," is a catchy tune called "Her Diamonds." It has already received heavy radio play. It has a nice tempo that goes along well with Thomas' voice. On the track titled "Fire On The Mountain," Thomas explores some new creative sounds. There's a cool Middle Eastern flavor to some of the guitar riffs and a hypnotic drum beat.

The first single "Her Diamonds," is one of the best songs on the album. You're sure to hear this tune on your favorite pop radio station. This is an easy album to recommend to fans of Rob Thomas and music fans in general. It's hard to say if it will attain the success of Thomas' previous work, but it definitely is a worthy successor. - 18418
