Movies have long had a rating system that is used as a guide to let parents and individuals know if a certain film is appropriate for certain viewers. It is often to shelter children and let parents know if a movie comprises violent or sexual scenes, however it may be rated for something as straightforward as smoking or swearing. Many people disagree with many ratings for various movies and there have even been copyright cases where a company knowingly removed scenes that they deemed inappropriate even if the film may have been rated a PG or PG-13.

All movies are diverse and it is very thorny to have a established standard that is consistent for each show. In just one picture, one individual may deem a graphic suicide by gun scene to be inappropriate while another individual may be offended by a semi-nude scene that suggests sexuality. Diverse people have different viewpoints about what may or may not be apt for a film.

The rating system for movies however is based upon theme and content. Parents and individuals need to take accountability themselves and just use the rating system as a guide as one should never rely on the rating system absolutely.

A G rating means that the picture has been deemed apt for general audiences. It may or may not be a kid's motion picture but it will not contain sexual scenes, swearing, drug or alcohol use, cigarette smoking or violence.

PG means parent guidance is suggested. There may be momentary moments of nudity or implied sexuality. There may be smoking or swearing but none of these things are extreme. Parents are just cautioned that these short scenes may exist. PG-13 is a stronger PG warning, meant for a movie that is not bad enough to justify an R rating but still not clean enough for a PG rating. These movies are generally not fitting for children under 13. There is likely some nudity or suggested sexuality, or violence.

No one under the age of 17 will be allowed into an R rated movie except they are accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. There is likely sexual scenes, drug abuse or violence. Parents are encouraged to watch these movies first before deciding to allow a child or young person to watch it.

The newest rating is a NC-17. This does not mean that it is pornographic but rather that the adult content, whether it is sexual, violent or something else, is too intense to be proper for anyone under age 17.

Parents and individuals need to take responsibility for their own decisions on which movies are apt. The ratings system is just a broad guide and should not be relied upon totally. - 18418

Britney Spears Womanizer - A Music Review

If you listen to Britney Spears' Womanizer single, you can only have one of these two reactions: either love or hate it. But for this writer, it's definitely not hate--not in a million years.

It has been a while since we have heard from Britney Spears (aside from the news and Internet posts). With the release of Blackout the album, she announced to the world that she is back after couple of years a roller coaster ride in her personal life. She made it official by appearing at the MTV VMAs where she, unfortunately, sucked.

Blackout turned out to be her most unsuccessful album in her career. She then released a track from her upcoming album called Womanizer which seemed to have redeemed her from the mess she made at the MTV Awards. The track contained everything that is Britney Spears: funky, interesting, and catchy. It will make you dance and groove. You will experience last-song-syndrome after listening to it.

Fans will be able to connect to the song easily. The words, penned by Nikesha Briscoe and Rapheal Akinyemi, were relatable. It tells the story of a womanizer who's trying to score but he's been found out and the girl is not giving him a chance to even reach first base. A lot of young girls will connect to this one. The chorus cannot be any catchier: Womanizer, woman-womanizer You're a womanizer Oh womanizer, Oh you're a womanizer baby You, you, you are You, you, you are Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer.

In this song, composers have adapted an electro-pop punk feel. This added to the appeal of the single because it's something new and different. However, it would also seem fit if the song stayed true to Britney's signature sound which is bubblegum pop. It would still have the same effect and appeal to the fans.

However, it still sounded great. When you listen to it, you can't deny that it is a Britney Spears song. The lyric, phrasing, the distinctive vocals, and tempo-all of these are the signatures of the pop superstar.

Most artists would like to come out with a different sounding records. Britney was among them (she had a collaboration with Madonna) but with this particular track, it seemed she went back a couple of steps. The way Womanizer was arranged (taking the futuristic sound away), it sounded like the kind of record she would sing years ago, but it is NOT an issue because it sounded great. It was wise to go back to basics after her hiatus because it re-solidified her hold in the pop scene.

One can't deny the fact that Womanizer is a great song. If you expect a great comeback hit from Britney Spears, then you've got it. Nothing more is needed to be said. - 18418
